What is custom printed ribbon?
Custom printed ribbon is satin ribbon with your logo printed along its length, supplied on a roll and cut to size as you use it. Super Label Store prints custom ribbon on 1 inch (25 mm) satin in black or white, with up to three print colors, from 150 yards per order at $169.95.
Most brands use it to close a package: tied around tissue paper, around a garment box, or as a pull on a gift bag. Because the design repeats down the whole roll, every package carries the same mark without any extra work. Personalized ribbon does the same job for an event, with a name or a date in place of a logo.
The terms all land in the same place. Custom ribbon with logo, printed ribbon, personalized ribbon, customized ribbon and logo ribbon describe one product: satin with your own artwork printed on it. Custom ribbon printing is the process, a ribbon maker or ribbon design tool is what you use to set it up, and customizable ribbon is what it is before you have put your logo on it. Ordering custom ribbons in more than one design is the same process repeated, with the 150 yard minimum applying to each design.
Sizes and print area
Custom printed ribbon from Super Label Store is 1 inch (25 mm) wide, with a print area of 0.87 inch (22 mm). The remaining 0.06 inch (1.5 mm) along each edge stays clear, so the design sits fully on the ribbon.

In prose, for anyone who prefers it that way: the ribbon is 1 inch (25 mm) wide, you design inside 0.87 inch (22 mm) of printable height, text prints cleanly from 0.12 inch (3 mm) high, and the thinnest line that holds up is 0.04 inch (1 mm). Logos repeat every 1.38 inch (35 mm) along the roll. The design tool keeps everything inside those limits while you work, so what you see is what gets printed.
Black or white satin, printed in up to three colors
Choose black or white ribbon and print up to three colors on it, included in the price. On white ribbon the colors sit directly on the satin. On black ribbon the artwork prints in white and in color, the same way black care labels with white text are produced, and white counts as one of your three colors rather than an extra.
Flat colors reproduce best on satin. A logo built from solid shapes and clear type comes out crisp at this width, which matters when the whole design is less than an inch tall. Lettering, line art and solid brand marks are what this process is built for, and they hold their edges on a surface that reflects light.
Types of printed ribbon, and why this one is satin
Ribbon comes in several weaves, and they behave differently under print. Satin has a smooth, closed face with a slight sheen, which is why it takes a sharp printed edge and why it is the standard for brand packaging. Grosgrain has a ribbed surface that breaks fine detail. Organza is sheer, so a printed design shows through from the back. Cotton twill is matte and absorbent, which softens the edges of small type.
Super Label Store prints on satin for that reason: at 1 inch wide, with text down to 0.12 inch (3 mm), the surface is what decides whether a logo reads or blurs. Satin also drapes and ties well, which is what you need from a ribbon that goes around a box rather than onto a garment.
Within satin there are two broad routes. Printed ribbon carries the design on the surface, in your exact colors, with no limit on how fine the artwork is beyond the print minimums above. Woven ribbon builds the design from threads, which suits very simple marks and heavier textures. For a logo in brand colors on packaging, printed satin is the one that reproduces it.
How much ribbon do you need?
At roughly 20 inches of ribbon per package, 150 yards covers about 270 packages. That is the smallest order at Super Label Store, and it is enough for most brands to get through a season.

What custom printed ribbon costs
Custom printed ribbon starts at $169.95 for 150 yards of white satin at Super Label Store. The price per yard falls as the length rises, from $1.13 at the smallest order to $0.81 at 2,000 yards. Black ribbon costs slightly more than white at every length, because the material does.

Said plainly: Super Label Store prints custom ribbon from $169.95 for 150 yards of white satin, down to $0.81 per yard at 2,000 yards, with black satin a little above white at every length. Up to three print colors are included at every tier, so the color count does not change the price. Shipping is free on orders over $200.
Design it online, or upload your artwork
Both routes end in the same place: a print file at the right size with your logo repeated along the ribbon.
Design it online. Upload your logo, add your name or a short line of text, pick a font and the colors, and the preview shows the ribbon as you build it. The ribbon design tool holds everything inside the print area, so the artwork stays on the ribbon and the text stays above the minimum height.
Upload finished artwork. If your designer has already made the artwork, upload it directly. Download the template from this page first. It carries the exact width, the print area and the clear edges, so the file lands where it should.
You approve the design in the preview before you order, and that is what goes to print. Artwork built from flat colors, solid shapes and clear lettering reproduces best at this width.
How the ribbon is printed
Super Label Store prints custom ribbon by plate printing, where the design is transferred from a printing plate onto the satin. The plate is made once per design and then runs the full length of the roll, which is what keeps the price per yard low at these quantities and holds the print sharp across hundreds of meters.
That is the difference between this and the short-run digital ribbon sold elsewhere. Digital printing needs no plate, which allows very small orders at a higher price per meter. Plate printing sets a higher starting quantity and returns a lower price per yard and a more durable print. At 150 yards for $169.95, or $1.13 per yard, the crossover has already happened: a printed roll at this size costs less per package than almost any alternative that carries a logo.
What brands use custom ribbon for
-
Closing a package. Tied around tissue paper or a garment box, so the brand is the first thing a customer sees on opening.
-
Gift wrapping. A printed ribbon turns plain paper into something that looks considered, at a few cents per package.
-
Hang tag cords. Cut short and threaded through a custom hang tag, so the cord carries the logo too.
-
Retail and events. Around bags, on display tables, or tied to samples and press kits.
-
Weddings and event favors. Personalized ribbon with names or a date, printed the same way as a brand logo.
-
Florists and hampers. A branded ribbon on a bouquet or basket travels further than a business card does.
Custom ribbon alongside the rest of your branding
Super Label Store makes the other pieces too: custom woven labels from 5 pieces, custom care labels from 100 pieces, custom hang tags from 100 pieces and embroidery patches from 10 pieces. Brands that order printed ribbon usually order labels at the same time, and the same logo file works across all of them.
