Custom business cards printed double sided

Custom business cards are printed cards that carry your name, brand and contact details, handed over in person or dropped into an order. Super Label Store prints custom business cards at 3.5 x 2 inches (88.9 x 50.8 mm), the standard US business card size, on 16 pt cardstock in matte, glossy or uncoated, in full color and always on both sides, from 250 cards per design at $55.50.

Two things work differently here than at most printers. The back is included rather than charged as an extra, because a single sided card wastes half the surface you paid for. And the finish does not change the price, so choosing between matte, glossy and uncoated business cards is purely about how you want the card to look and feel.

If you already order custom woven labels or hang tags from us, your business cards come from the same brand assets and the same design tool.

Matte, glossy or uncoated business cards

All three are white 16 pt cardstock and all three cost the same. What changes is the surface, and with it how colors read, whether the card catches the light, and whether you can write on it.

Matte business cards have a smooth, non-reflective coated surface. Colors sit slightly softer than on glossy, but the card holds no glare under shop, restaurant or trade show lighting, which also makes it the easiest of the three to photograph. You can write on it with a normal pen. Matte is the safe default and the most common choice.

Glossy business cards have a reflective coated surface that lifts contrast and makes color and photography look richer. The trade off is practical: gloss shows fingerprints, and a normal ballpoint will not write on it. Choose glossy when the card carries an image or a saturated brand color and nobody needs to write on it.

Uncoated business cards have no coating at all, so the surface is natural and slightly textured and the ink sinks into the fiber rather than sitting on top. Colors come out softer and more muted than on the same design printed on matte or glossy, which suits a restrained, editorial look. Uncoated is by far the best of the three to write on, so it is the obvious pick if the card doubles as an appointment card, a loyalty stamp card or a hand-written note.

Matte Glossy Uncoated
Surface Coated, smooth, no shine Coated, reflective Natural, lightly textured
Color Balanced Highest contrast Softer, more muted
Glare None Yes None
Fingerprints Barely Shows them No
Write on it Yes Not with a ballpoint Best of the three
Thickness 16 pt 16 pt 16 pt
Price Identical across all three

In plain terms: matte for most brands and for anything that gets photographed, glossy when the design leans on images or strong color, uncoated when the card needs to be written on or should feel understated. All three are the same 16 pt thickness and the same price at Super Label Store.

Business card prices

Super Label Store business cards start at $55.50 for 250 double sided cards with square corners. The price depends on two things only: the quantity and the corner style. The finish never changes it.

250 $55.50 $65.50
500 $70.50 $83.50
1,000 $88.75 $113.75
1,500 $127.50 $167.50
2,000 $157.50 $217.50
2,500 $196.25 $266.25
5,000 $327.50 $437.50
10,000 $631.25 $841.25
15,000 $946.75 $1,261.75
20,000 $1,262.50 $1,682.50

Written out: Super Label Store charges $55.50 for 250 custom business cards, $70.50 for 500 and $88.75 for 1,000, printed on both sides in matte, glossy or uncoated. Rounded corners add $10 at 250 cards and $25 at 1,000. Shipping is free on orders over $200.

What size is a business card?

A standard US business card is 3.5 x 2 inches, which is 88.9 x 50.8 mm. That is the size Super Label Store prints, landscape or portrait, and it fits every standard US wallet, cardholder and business card case.

The European standard is different: 85 x 55 mm, used across Europe, the UK and Australia. The two are close in area but not in shape. A US card is 3.9 mm wider and 4.2 mm shorter, so it looks longer and slimmer next to a European one, and a design made for one size does not simply scale to the other. If you are ordering for a European market, keep that in mind before you design.

How thick is a business card?

A standard business card is around 14 pt, which is 0.014 inches or roughly 0.36 mm. Super Label Store prints all three finishes on 16 pt cardstock, 0.016 inches or roughly 0.41 mm, so every card leaves heavier than the one most people are handed.

Point is a thickness measure, where one point equals one thousandth of an inch. It is not the same as gsm, which measures weight, so the two do not convert cleanly between paper types. What matters in the hand is that a thicker card stays flat in a wallet instead of curling, and does not crease going into a pocket.

Square or rounded corners

Rounded corner business cards are cut with a 0.25 inch radius on all four corners. Everything else stays the same: same size, same stock, same double sided printing.

The practical difference is wear. Square corners are sharp when they leave the box and they are the first part of a card to bend, fray or discolor after a week in a wallet. Rounded corners have nothing to catch on, so a card that lives in a bag still looks new. Square reads more formal and traditional; rounded reads softer and more contemporary.

Whichever you pick, keep your design clear of the corners. The design tool shows the safe area, and anything placed outside it risks being trimmed, because no two sheets cut in exactly the same place.

What goes on the back

Because the back is included, the useful question is not whether to print it but what to put there. The front carries identity, the back carries whatever earns the card a second look.

  • A QR code to your shop, your lookbook or a discount on a first order. Print it as large as the layout allows and scan it from your preview before ordering.
  • A short offer. A percentage off turns a card into a reason to visit rather than a piece of paper.
  • Social handles, which for a lot of small brands matter more than a phone number.
  • A second language, if you sell into more than one market.
  • Blank space, deliberately. On matte and uncoated you can write on the card, so a blank back becomes a note, an appointment or a hand-written thank you.

Business cards for clothing brands and makers

Most Super Label Store customers already buy woven labels, care labels and hang tags from us, and the business card does a job those cannot: it goes in the box.

Clothing brand business cards work hardest as a packaging insert rather than a networking card. A card dropped into a mailer with a short thank you turns a shipped parcel into an unboxing and gives the customer something to photograph. Boutique and fashion business cards handed over at a market or a pop up do the same job face to face.

Apparel business cards also solve a specific problem. Your woven label carries your brand inside the garment, where the customer sees it every time they get dressed, but there is nothing in the parcel that tells them where to buy the next piece. The card is that missing link, and it is why we added it to the range.

Designing your card

You can design your business card two ways, in one tool on this page. Upload finished artwork for the front and the back if you already have it, or build the card from scratch with your own text, fonts and colors. Either way you set the finish and the corners and see both sides as you go.

Three things to plan around, and they matter here because we print exactly what you approve on screen. There is no separate proof step for business cards: the live preview is the proof, and you confirm it with a checkbox before the card goes in your cart.

  • Let backgrounds run to the edge. If your design has a colored background, drag it past the trim line. A background that stops short leaves a white sliver after cutting.
  • Keep text inside the safe area. The tool shows a guide. Text placed outside it can be trimmed off.
  • Check the finish against your artwork. A photograph gains from glossy and loses a little on uncoated. Fine light text is easiest to read on matte.

Frequently asked questions about custom business cards

How much do custom business cards cost?

Super Label Store business cards start at $55.50 for 250 double sided cards, $70.50 for 500 and $88.75 for 1,000. Matte, glossy and uncoated are the same price. Rounded corners add a surcharge that starts at $10 for 250 cards.

What is the minimum order for business cards?

250 cards per design. From there the ladder runs to 20,000, and the unit price drops as the quantity rises. Each design counts separately, so two different cards means two orders of 250.

What size is a business card?

A standard US business card is 3.5 x 2 inches, or 88.9 x 50.8 mm, and that is the size Super Label Store prints. The European standard is 85 x 55 mm, which is 3.9 mm narrower and 4.2 mm taller, so the two are not interchangeable.

Are the cards printed on both sides?

Yes, always. Double sided printing is included at every quantity and there is no single sided option. Most printers charge extra for the back; at Super Label Store it is standard.

Does the finish cost extra?

No. Matte, glossy and uncoated are the same price at every quantity, so choose on how you want the card to look rather than on budget. Only the quantity and the corner style affect what you pay.

Should I choose matte or glossy?

Matte if the card will be photographed, handed over under bright lighting, or written on, because it holds no glare and takes pen ink. Glossy if the design leans on a photograph or a saturated brand color and needs the extra contrast. Glossy shows fingerprints and a ballpoint will not write on it.

What are uncoated business cards?

Cards with no surface coating, so the stock is natural and lightly textured and the ink sinks into the fiber. Colors come out softer than on a coated card, and it is the easiest of the three to write on. A good pick for appointment cards, loyalty cards and anything that should feel understated.

How thick is a business card?

A standard card is around 14 pt, which is 0.014 inches or roughly 0.36 mm. Super Label Store prints on 16 pt in all three finishes, so every card is thicker than the one most people carry. One point equals one thousandth of an inch.

What is the point of rounded corners?

Wear, mainly. Square corners bend and fray first, so a card carried in a wallet looks tired within a week. Rounded corner business cards have nothing to catch on. They also read softer and more contemporary; square reads more formal.

Can I upload my own design?

Yes. Upload finished artwork for the front and the back, or build the card from scratch in the browser with your own text, fonts and colors. Both options are in the same design tool on this page.

Can I see the card before it prints?

You see both sides live in the design tool as you build them, and that preview is what goes to print. There is no separate proof for business cards, so you confirm the preview with a checkbox before ordering. Check the spelling, scan any QR code and make sure your background runs to the edge first.

How long does production take?

6 to 10 business days plus shipping. Shipping is free on orders over $200.

Can I order business cards with my woven labels?

Yes. Business cards, woven labels, care labels and hang tags are separate products with their own minimums, but they use the same design tool and the same uploaded artwork, so your branding stays consistent across the garment, the tag and the box.

Order your custom business cards
