Single or double velcro: which do you need?
This is the choice people get wrong most often, and it is worth thirty seconds of thought before you order.

Double velcro. What you get: Hook on the patch, plus a separate loop piece | Choose it when: The garment has no loop panel. Sew or attach the loop piece where you want it, then the patch attaches to that
In short: if your vest or uniform already has that fuzzy rectangle on it, you need single. If you are starting from a plain jacket, cap or bag, you need double.
If you are ordering for a team and some gear has loop panels while some does not, order double. The extra loop piece is unused on the gear that already has a panel, which costs less than discovering half the order cannot be attached.

Text on a patch needs about 3.5 to 4 mm of width to stay legible, which is roughly twice what a woven label needs, because embroidery thread is much thicker. If a name or unit designation will not fit at that size, order a larger patch rather than shrinking the type.
